Animal testing should be legal because in the time it has been around, treatments and products have been improved to help us live our lives as healthy as we can and people want to argue it 's inhumane. We should be thankful for animal testing because by doing so, the safety in our products increases. Animal testing may seem cruel and wrong, but animal testing has been proven to help with medical and scientific research. Animal testing helps scientists with their understanding of certain medical treatments, and products for other human uses. Animal testing plays an important part in finding new information about diseases and understanding the development of that certain disease to help scientist help find cures and ways to get rid of them. There is an estimate of 26 million animals that are tested each year. When done so, these animals are usually tested to determine the side-effects of a certain medication.
Animal testing and research has been around for a very long time, even before regulations were made. In 2011, a poll of about 1,000 biomedical scientists was created by the science magazine, “Nature” and the poll stated that more than 90% of the 1,000 biomedical students agreed that the use of animals in research is essential. To conclude with that poll, according to the California Biomedical Research Association, in the last one hundred years, medical breakthroughs have been made due to animal testing.
