The efficiency of the helping procedure is build upon how good the human services professionals’ skills are. I believe that the most important skill to posses is the ability to communicate not only verbally but physically, body language is important because a person’s posture, tone of voice and gestures, can sometimes say more that the actual words a person is saying, Not being judgmental is positive skill a human services professional should have, not discriminating or have favoritism towers a particular age, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, nationality, or any other society. Also having empathy (the acceptance of other person) is important, it allows the helpers to understand and share the client’s experiences and emotions without being judgmental, empathy allows the human services professional to see things form the client’s perspective and is able to sympathize with their feelings.
