Access to legal abortion reduces maternal injury as well as death caused by unsafe illegal abortion. It seems to me that abortion should remain legalized in the United States. Women have various reasons to resort to abortion. First off, no one should be able to tell a women what to do with her body, or judge her for it. Second, the majority of people tend to make or believe countless misconceptions when it comes to this topic. While I 'm a strong advocate for abortion, I understand why some are against it, but that will not change my position. An abortion is one of those things that no one should have a say in unless they 're the one getting it done. If a woman decides to get an abortion, that is her decision to be made. While it is a very serious choice to be made, it 's hers. Women get abortions for multiple reasons. According to the article Abortion Facts written by Carly Fiorina “1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems with either the mother or the child; and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (that is, the child is unwanted or inconvenient.)” Countless people may believe that the only social reason that exist when it comes to getting an abortion is that the woman didn 't want the baby, when in all reality there 's many more reasons than that.
