Cannabis Sativahas, also known as "marijuana," "weed," "reefer," or "Mary Jane" is the most used drug in US. The drug is so popular that 40% of Americans admit that they have tried it at least once. This is because of one of the 400 chemicals found in weed, which are also known as cannabinoids, called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol AKA THC. This chemical is responsible for the psychoactive effects it has the human mind. It accomplishes this by activating the cannabinoid receptors, CB1 and CB2. The CB1 receptors are located in the brain and the CB2 are located in the eyes, also the tonsils and thymus glands. Theses receptors act like light bulbs, when electricity (cannabinoids) comes in contact with them they turn on, which gives you that famous high feeling. Making your mind feel weird isn 't the only use this drug can do, it can also be used for it hemp fibers which is used in rope, but more importantly it can be used medically.
With 0 deaths ever caused directly from it and the lack of any bad side effects, marijuana has taken the medical field by storm. Only recently has Medical marijuana been looked into as a viable source of medicine and already there are, reportedly 30 different medical uses.
