What are a few reasons for legalizing Marijuana? Marijuana is a controversial topic among society and the government. Marijuana prohibition has been the subject of an ongoing argument, as far back as Richard Nixon, who declared the first “war on drugs.” Many make claims about cannabis in recent history; facts are slowly beginning to surface. We know that people may consume the drug for personal use, but how about benefiting a patient with sickness and disorders. Unfortunately, people who smoke marijuana are stereotyped as lazy or unmotivated and referred to “pot heads”. The rising cost of the drug war is impossible to ignore. If marijuana was legalized, the resources used to fight marijuana can be for education on drugs and rehabilitation. Overall, legalizing marijuana can benefit society, more than the old ideology.
