Cannabis is able to treat over 170 diseases , including Dravet Syndrome. Which is a rare, severe form of intractable epilepsy. Charlotte Figi suffers from Dravet Syndrome when, she was 2 years old she started having seizures. Her parents tried everything they could ranging from diets to many pharmaceutical drugs. None seemed to work , then amendment 20 was passed in Colorado in 2000. That 's when her parents decided to apply for medical marijuana. They bought cannabidiol oil , or CBD oil, which has no psychoactive properties one of many cannabinoids in the cannabis plant it purely medical no “high” is produced by CBD. The seizures went from, having five to ten seizures a day to no more than one a day. This is only one instance of cannabis treating diseases, there are so many cases out there exactly like this one. But if cannabis can treat so many diseases you might ask yourself, why do people oppose legalization of cannabis? Cannabis should be legalized because studies show it is healthier than most pharmaceutical drugs, It treats over one hundred and seventy diseases, and the prohibition of it, is extremely expensive and, is not working.
With everything cannabis can help treat, why was cannabis outlawed in the beginning? Why is it outlawed now?
