The main substance that is in weed (a short term word used for marijuana) would be THC. THC stands for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol. When the drug is smoked the THC passes through the bloodstream, through all the organs in the body, and takes it to the brain. As it enters the brain the THC attaches to the cells and there are receptors in your brain that are called cannabinoid receptors and they are activated by chemicals that occur naturally in the human body. I am going to be writing about marijuana and the use of it showing how it’s not harmful and why it should be legalized. Facts will be provided to show the positive benefits of marijuana use showing that this “illegal drug” is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
These are part of a communication system in the brain called the endocannabinoid system. most of those cannabinoid receptors are found in parts of the brain that stimulate pleasure, memory, thinking, concentration, sensory, time perception, and coordination movement. Weed generates an increase in the activity of the endocannabinoid system, which causes the release of dopamine in the brain 's reward center. This creates a pleasurable feeling or “high”. Other symptoms or effects include the following… change in perception + mood. Lack of coordination + movement. Difficulty or finding it hard to think or solve problems.
