Marijuana is a word that usually comes with a negative implication. Texas is one of the most conservatives states out there and has strongly been against the legalization of marijuana for years. I don 't participate in the use of marijuana, but with that said I don 't see the predicament with marijuana. The year is 2015, circumstances are changing, and we as a state should adapt and embrace these changes. Texas should legalize marijuana and here 's why. Legalizing marijuana should be permitted based on the numerous beneficial values: for medical use, to liberate the money the government spends due to the judicial process dealing with marijuana arrests, increase the revenue from taxes as well as production, and reduce the war on drugs.
One of the main reasons why Colorado even considered legalizing marijuana was for its health benefits is has on the consumer. For example, Kyle Stozek claims to have a friend that was having up to 40 seizures a year, but due to the use of medical marijuana, it limited that to one seizure a year. Also, he also started Dr. Sanjay Gupta, chief medical correspondent for CNN, did a special report on marijuana and this investigation on marijuana lead him to change his opinion that was against marijuana but, is now for it. In this special report, he interviews two patients; Charlotte Fig and Chaz Moore. Charlotte Fig is a five-year-old girl who suffers from a rare illness called Dravet Syndrome, a severe form of intractable epilepsy.
