* Manish Kumar initiated an open door concept in the organization wherein all the top management people would be approachable to employees at all times.

* I remember a particular incident where in I was disturbed due to my boss’s behavior. He had a habit of taking credit for all the work I had done on a project. Manish Kumar sensed my discomfort; he listened to all I had to say very patiently. He also called my colleagues who also gave him a similar feedback. During the appraisals he initiated a 360o appraisal system wherein we had to submit a confidential report on our bosses for their appraisals. He made sure that people who follow such unethical practices are confronted during the appraisal process. This was the first time such a policy was practiced in Alkem. It helped create a secured environment in the organization.

* The year he joined Alkem touched an 800 Cr mark. For the next financial year the organization was aiming a 1000 Cr mark. Manish Kumar initiated a series of activities to ensure that the 1000 Cr mark gets etched in every employee’s heart. 1000 Cr posters and mascots were put up across all offices, including regional offices, plants and R&D center. The sales team was sent a 1000 Cr greeting card by the HR team every week. He ensured that there was a vibration in each and every individual to reach that golden mark. And we did achieve the goal that year. This was purely because the HR team under his leadership
